Civic educator and activist Morara Kebaso has quit politics. He says he is finally free to live on his own terms.
On social media, Kebaso celebrated his decision. He said he can now do business, make money, travel, and see his friends. He no longer fears being photographed in bars or judged for how he dances or smiles.
Kebaso said public life was exhausting. He faced constant pressure to act a certain way, appear in interviews, stay guarded and said goodbye to TV shows, misquotes, and online critics.
Morara mocked people who question his lifestyle. He said he owes no one an explanation for his clothes, car, or home. Also, he said it’s none of their business.
He also said he can now worship and preach freely. No one can accuse him of chasing attention or pretending.
He says he enjoys privacy now and no longer lives under public scrutiny. He can focus on his business and also live his faith without fear of judgment.
His announcement drew public attention. K24 Digital and Tuko.co.ke praised his honesty. Many Kenyans online supported his decision. Some said his message reflects what young leaders go through in politics.
Kebaso’s post highlights how draining public life can be. His words—“I’m free”—struck a chord with many. For now, he plans to enjoy his new life. Whether he returns to public service or not remains unknown.
