Outrage in Homa Bay as Protesters Burn Police Station During Burial of Slain Youth

Police officers fled Albert Ojwang’s burial in Homa Bay after mourners turned hostile. The crowd accused the government of hypocrisy. They blamed it for Ojwang’s death but claimed it pretended to mourn him.

Tension rose as youth mourners demanded the body be taken to Mawego Police Station. They wanted it there before heading to Kokwanyo village. They said this would protest police brutality and deaths in custody.

Hundreds joined the emotional procession. They marched from Mawego to Ojwang’s home in Kabondo Kasipul. The crowd chanted and carried the coffin through the streets.

Protesters stormed Mawego Police Station. They set it on fire and paraded with the coffin. The bold move showed rising anger over police killings.

The unrest comes amid nationwide protests. Youths have been dying during anti-government demonstrations.
