Moses Kuria Resigns as President Ruto’s Senior Economic Advisor

Moses Kuria has resigned as President William Ruto’s Senior Economic Advisor. He made the announcement this evening in a public statement.

Kuria said President Ruto accepted his resignation. He thanked the President for the chance to serve in various roles in the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Kuria served as Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and also Industry for 11 months. He later led the Ministry of Public Service, Delivery, and Performance Management for nine months. He then joined the Council of Economic Advisors for 10 months.

“I now move on to pursue personal interests,” said Kuria. He also expressed pride in the work he did with President Ruto. He noted that they jointly designed the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda in 2022.

His resignation comes amid speculation about his political plans. He may return to active politics through Jubilee Party or Chama Cha Kazi.

Kuria played a major role in shaping the Bottom-Up economic model. That model remains the core of the Kenya Kwanza agenda.

His work in trade and public service earned praise from allies and critics. He did not say what he plans to do next but affirmed his love for Kenya.

“Long live Kenya,” he said in closing.

The President’s office has not announced who will replace him. His exit marks a major shift in Ruto’s economic team
