KPA soars after consecutive triumphs

KPA soars after consecutive triumphs. Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) secured back-to-back wins in the Kenya National Women’s Basketball Premier League, gaining momentum as they head into the final round of the regular season.

On Saturday, KPA overpowered Strathmore Swords with a commanding 73-51 victory, showcasing strength on both offense and defense. They kept the momentum going on Sunday, cruising past ANU Panthers 83-39 to wrap up a flawless weekend.

These consecutive wins push the Dockers closer to completing a strong regular season campaign, boosting their confidence ahead of the playoffs.

KPA assistant head coach Samuel Ocholla praised the team’s determination and strong performance over the weekend.

“It was a great weekend. We didn’t just win both matches we won with big margins,” said Ocholla. “That came from solid preparation. But it doesn’t stop here. Our focus is on the title.”

KPA Next move

With just one game remaining before the playoffs, KPA is now fully focused on their upcoming clash against Zetech Sparks. This highly anticipated matchup could be the decider for the top spot in the Women’s Basketball Premier League standings. A win in their final fixture would not only cement KPA’s position at the summit but also give them a stronger seeding heading into the postseason.

Speaking ahead of the crucial showdown, Ocholla emphasized the need to maintain intensity. “We’ll keep training hard and finish the regular season with the same energy. We’re preparing for a strong playoff run. So far, things are good, and we’ll keep fighting,” he said, underlining the team’s commitment.

Currently, KPA leads the table with 41 points from 21 games, having recorded 20 wins and only one loss. This consistency has given them a narrow edge as the league nears its conclusion.

Meanwhile, Zetech Sparks remains hot on their heels in second place with 40 points from the same number of matches. They’ve secured 19 wins and suffered two defeats so far. Over the weekend, they kept the pressure on by defeating Safe Space 62-42, proving they’re just as determined to finish strong.

As the regular season draws to a close, all eyes will be on the KPA vs. Zetech clash—a game that could shape the playoff picture and crown the regular season leader.

As the regular season wraps up, the clash between KPA and Zetech Sparks promises to be a thrilling battle for the top spot
