President William Ruto has urged Harambee Stars fans to remain disciplined as the national team prepares to face Zambia on Sunday at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
He praised the Harambee Stars for their impressive performance in the African Nations Championship (CHAN). Ruto said the team has brought pride to Kenya with their strong run in the competition. However, he stressed that fans must also play their part by upholding order and discipline in the stands.
“Fans and the people of Kenya, you have done a tremendous job supporting Harambee Stars,” the President said. “But we must cheer within the rules set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).”
Ruto reminded supporters that their behavior reflects the image of the country. He asked Harambee Stars fans to avoid violence, unruly conduct, or acts that could embarrass Kenya. Instead, he encouraged them to create a safe and positive environment that will motivate the players.
The President added that discipline in the stadium will help strengthen Kenya’s reputation in African football. He said passionate support is important, but it must remain respectful and responsible.
As Harambee Stars prepare for the highly anticipated showdown against Zambia, the government has assured fans of security and smooth organization at Kasarani. Ruto emphasized that the team needs both loud cheers and disciplined supporters to continue their good run at CHAN.
The match against Zambia is expected to draw thousands of Harambee Stars fans from across the country. With the President’s call for discipline, the focus now turns to whether supporters will rise to the occasion and match the team’s determination with orderly behavior.
