Samidoh wins praise for uplifting late singer Shalkido

Mugithi singer Shalkido has died after a serious motorcycle accident along Thika Road. He sustained critical injuries and was taken to Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, where he later died.

His former Sailors Gang bandmate Peter Miracle Baby confirmed the sad news. He said Shalkido’s family called around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday to inform him about the tragic loss.

Media personality Oga Obinna had earlier shared updates about the artist’s condition. Shalkido had performed in Thika and was heading back home when the crash happened. Obinna said they lost contact briefly before later learning about the accident.

Emergency responders found Shalkido by the roadside with a fractured thigh and severe head injuries. Doctors tried to save him but could not revive him.

Fans and fellow musicians flooded social media with tributes. They described Shalkido as a talented, humble artist who worked hard to rebuild his career after leaving the Gengetone scene.

Many praised Samidoh for supporting Shalkido’s Mugithi journey. They said his mentorship helped the young artist transition smoothly into a new music genre.

Shalkido’s death is a heartbreaking loss to Kenya’s music industry. His fans remember him for his lively stage energy and his determination to rise again.
