The Senegal Football Federation confirmed that the Lions of Teranga will face Kenya’s Harambee Stars in an international friendly on November 18, 2025. The match will take place at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
The game kicks off at 15:00 GMT. Both teams aim to test their strength as they prepare for upcoming continental and global tournaments.
Senegal announced the fixture on its official Facebook page, stating;
“Senegal will play a second friendly match this November 2025: it will take place on November 18 at 15:00 GMT against Kenya at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya.”
This game renews a long-awaited clash between the two nations after they canceled their planned pre-CHAN friendly in July 2025.
Kenya and Senegal last met at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where Senegal claimed a 3–0 victory in the group stage. The Lions of Teranga also won the last two meetings between the sides.
AFCON 2027 Focus
Kenya will play Madagascar on November 14 before meeting Senegal. These two matches form part of the Harambee Stars’ November international window in Turkey.
Head coach Benni McCarthy named his squad for both games earlier this month. He plans to test new players and build a competitive team ahead of AFCON 2027. Kenya will co-host the tournament with Uganda and Tanzania.
McCarthy left out key striker Michael Olunga, who featured in the 2019 AFCON. The coach wants to give young players a chance to gain experience.
The friendly against Senegal gives Kenya a valuable opportunity to measure their progress against one of Africa’s strongest sides.
Senegal continues to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after topping CAF Group B to qualify automatically. The Lions of Teranga are also gearing up for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, where they will compete in Group D.
Both teams view the Antalya friendlies as a crucial part of their build-up. Kenya wants to boost confidence and teamwork, while Senegal focuses on fine-tuning tactics ahead of a busy 2026 season.
