Azziad Nasenya Fights to Save Kileleshwa Apartment

Kenyan media personality Azziad Nasenya is fighting to save her KSh20 million apartment in Kileleshwa. She has sued Qona Deposit Taking Sacco for allegedly moving to auction her property illegally.

Court papers show that the Sacco claims she defaulted on a KSh21 million loan. The apartment served as collateral for the loan. Azziad says the Sacco ignored due process before advertising the property for sale. She insists she had resumed her repayments and was not served with a statutory notice.

The apartment sits in a high end Kileleshwa development with modern designs and luxury amenities. The case is now before the Commercial Court in Nairobi. Azziad wants the court to stop the planned auction.

Reports indicate the Sacco already listed the apartment for sale through a public auction. The case has drawn public attention because of Azziad’s celebrity status. It also raises concerns about how Saccos recover loans and protect borrowers’ rights.

The court has not yet issued a ruling on the dispute
