Death and Funeral announcement, it is with great sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing-on of Dr. Godfrey Obwanga Yuka on 20th May, 2024, at the Aga Khan University Hospital after a short illness. Although he experienced a short illness we lost him. He was the first child of the Late Dison Yuka and the Late Mama Dorina Hayombe. Son in-law of the Late Reuben M’Mutungi and the Late Rael Ncurubi Mutungi.

Never the less, a loving husband of Lydia Nyoroka Obwanga. Loving father of Doreen, Chris, Tina and Kevin Mukuha. Besides, doting grandfather of Nala and Ayana Mukuha, the Late Aria Obwanga, Lily, Joshua, and Faith.

Additionally, a Brother of Barack Abunge, the Late Orwa, the Late Juma, the Late Phoebe Warinda, the Late Obwanga Kasede, the Late Okoth, Daniel Ochuodho.

Brother-in-law of Risper Abunge, Nyakano, Aida Ogenga, Lucy Ochuodho. The Late Alex and Lily K. Mwenda, the Late Amos and Kaari Kiunga, the Late Abednego and Elizabeth Kiriinya, the Late Martha and Joel Muthuuri, Priscilla Mutungi, Julius and Monica Mutiga. Crispo Mwenda, the Late Joseph Kirema Mutungi and the Late Martin Kamathi. Besides, he was an uncle of many nieces and nephews, and an invested granduncle of many.

Further more, he was a nephew of the Late Gordon and Ohayo Obwanga. The Late Odus Ohayo, the Late Kilion Opiacha, the Late Chloy.
Rapuri, the Late Alfreda Andiki, the Late Nyamondo, Mama Ogaya & the Late Mama Malowa, the Late Mama Okinyo.

Dr. Obwanga was a cousin of Martin Ohayo Oduson, Peter Anam, Dorcas Amolo, James Kepha Andiki, Oduor Nyauma and Nyamondo all of Gem, Siaya County.

Departure

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Friday 24th May 2024. Hence to proceed to Nakuru for a memorial service at St. Christopher’s Church Nakuru.

The final ceremony and internment death and funeral announcement of Dr. Godfrey Obwanga will be on 25th May 2024 at Kiamunyi, Nakuru.

Family and friends are meeting daily at CITAM, Valley Road from 5,30p.m until Thursday 23rd May 2024. However, at home all are welcome for mourning with the bereaved family. Although we loved him, God loved him much.
