Kenya vs DR Congo at Kasarani. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the official fixture list for the 2025. African Nations Championship (CHAN), confirming that Kenya will face tough opponents in Group A.
The tournament designed exclusively for home-based players will take place from August 2 to August 30, 2025. Hosts venues spread across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
As one of the host nations, Kenya placed in a challenging Group A that includes Angola, DR Congo, and Morocco.
Harambee Stars will begin their CHAN 2025 journey with a clash against DR Congo on August 3 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
They will return to the same venue four days later to take on Angola, before wrapping up their group stage fixtures against Morocco on August 10.
Group A matches
The group A matches will take place between Kasarani and Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium.
Elsewhere, fellow East African hosts Uganda and Tanzania will be looking to progress from their respective groups. Uganda, drawn in Group C, will play their matches at Kampala’s Mandela National Stadium, where they are set to face Algeria, Guinea, and Niger.
Uganda will kick off their Group C campaign with a match against Algeria on Sunday, August 3 at 8:00 PM. And followed by encounters with Guinea and Niger.
Tanzania, on the other hand, placed in Group B. And they will play all their matches at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. Kenya vs DR Congo at Kasarani. They are set to face Burkina Faso, Madagascar, and Mauritania in what is expected to be a highly competitive group.
Tanzania’s opening fixture against Burkina Faso on Saturday, August 2 at 8:00 PM, before going on to battle Madagascar and Mauritania.
Meanwhile, questions continue to emerge over Kenya’s readiness to co-host the CHAN tournament, with growing concerns centered on the current condition of Nyayo Stadium.
