Musingu High plots title return. Musingu High School football coach Branden Mwinano says his squad is ready to fight for the national football title.
The team will compete from July 27 to August 3 when the national school games kick off in Kakamega County. Speaking ahead of the tournament, Mwinano emphasized their hunger to win back the title they lost last year.
Highway High School defeated Musingu in the 2024 finals on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time. This time, Musingu aims to correct that loss with intense training and a winning mindset. “We’re working hard every day,” Mwinano said. “Our goal is clear we want the trophy back.”
Musingu High School has landed in a tough group for the upcoming national football games in Kakamega. They will face Agai Mixed Secondary from Nyanza, Moi High School from Eastern, and a yet-to-be-confirmed team from North Eastern.
Head coach Branden Mwinano believes the team’s fans will be key to their success.
“We must use our home advantage to push for victory,” Mwinano said. “Our fans are passionate, and we feel their support. That energy will drive us to win.”
Looking at player readiness, Mwinano confirmed the squad is in good shape. He reported no major injuries, only a few minor knocks that should heal before the tournament.
“We’re managing some small knocks, but nothing serious. Everyone should be fit by the time nationals begin,” he assured.
With solid preparation and home support, Musingu remains focused on reclaiming the national football crown.
